About Us
My Academic Playground
Children develop their creativity, imagination, and problem-solving skills through a sense of wonder when they learn through play. Encouraging them to use their imagination is not only developmentally appropriate but also empowers them to become active agents in their learning. We help lay the groundwork for lifelong learning through play-based academic experiences.
Individualized Services in Your Home
We provide individualized academic play services in the comfort of your child’s home. Our sessions help children build cognitive and social-emotional skills while fostering exploration, ownership, and continuous development. Play is a crucial part of children's development—they begin to understand how the world around them works by interacting with it through play.
We are a private academic play practice
Currently servicing Lower Manhattan, New York, and select areas of Rhode Island.
Unstructured Play
Unstructured play allows your child to use their imagination and creativity to invent their own games and explore their interests independently. This type of play encourages freedom, creativity, and independence while allowing your child to grow and discover in a nurturing environment.
Collaborative Play
In collaborative play, your child engages with others to learn important social skills like sharing, cooperation, and communication. This type of play promotes teamwork and helps children navigate social interactions in a fun, relaxed environment, building friendships and fostering empathy.
Structured Play
Structured play includes teacher-guided activities that focus on developing specific skills such as problem-solving, following directions, and fine motor skills. These activities are both engaging and educational, helping children balance learning and play while feeling supported as they explore new ideas.
Dramatic Play
Dramatic play lets children step into different roles—whether it’s a teacher, doctor, or superhero. This type of play enhances language skills, emotional expression, and problem-solving, helping children make sense of the world around them in an imaginative and playful way.
